Dude, OMG, you awake? I just finished playing Mutant Rail Fury and I literally cannot sleep now, it’s 11 PM and my brain is still buzzing. You HAVE to try this game.
Someone told me it was like, "protect the train, cooperative survival against zombies with block building." And yeah, technically that's what it is, but that's like describing a rollercoaster as "a metal track with a cart." It completely misses the point!
Honestly, when I first started, I thought it was gonna be another boring tower defense thing. I picked the "Dusty Canyon" map, thinking I'd just plop down some walls and shoot stuff. But then the train started moving, right? And the blocks aren't just walls, they're like, *modules* you snap together. I figured out if you put a "Scrap Shield" next to a "Spark Coil," it doesn't just block, it actually zaps the little "Grumblers" when they hit it! It's so clever how they did that.
I swear, I looked at the clock and it was like, 2 AM, I started at 9 PM. Time just vanished. The mutants aren't just regular zombies either, there are these "Leapers" that jump over your defenses and "Brutes" that smash through everything. Your constantly scrambling, trying to build new stuff while the train is chugging along, and your trying to shoot the big guys. It's so chaotic but in the best way.
And the turrets? They’re not just buy-and-place. You can upgrade them with different blocks, like I put a "Reflector Plate" on my "Auto-Blaster" and it started shooting *ricocheting* bullets! It was insane, clearing out a whole wave of those annoying "Skitterers" in one go. I don't usually like games where you have to build stuff, but this feels so intuitive, like you're actually improvising. It's fun. Really, really fun. You gotta get it.
