About Funfair Dash
OMG dude, you awake? I can't sleep, I'm still thinking about Funfair Dash. Seriously.
Remember when I told you what that one guy said it was? "Kids Amusement Park, a collection of online casual minigames for kids." Like, that description is so wrong it's almost funny. It's like describing a really good pizza as "bread with toppings." Technically true, but it completely misses what makes it *pizza*.
This game is actually... I don't know, it's like a puzzle game and a rhythm game had a super smart baby? I thought it was gonna be dumb at first, just some simple clicky stuff. But then I started playing the "Whack-a-Marmot" one. I thought it was just whack-a-mole, right? But no, the marmots have different colored hats, and if you hit them in a certain order, you get these crazy combos. And the sound when you get a perfect chain? It’s this little "ding-ding-DONG" that just feels *so* good. I literally spent an hour just trying to perfect one stage.
And then there's "Cloud Catcher." You gotta jump between these clouds to grab stars, but the clouds move in patterns, and it's like the game is playing a little song for you. I kept falling, but then I noticed the musical notes that play *before* a cloud moves. It's like the game is telling you what to do, but in a super subtle way. That's when I realized this isn't just a kids game, it's actually really clever. Your brain has to work, but it doesn't feel like work, you know?
I started playing at like, 8 PM, and then I looked up and it was almost 1 AM. I was still thinking about how to get that last star in the "Balloon Blitz" game, where you have to pop balloons in a specific order to get speed boosts. I even caught myself humming the "Cloud Catcher" tune during my lunch break today. I already told Sarah she *had* to try it, even though she usually only plays those big RPGs. I'm not sure why but it just pulls you in. It’s fun. Really, really fun. You should seriously check it out.
