The Bovine Ronin's Ques
About The Bovine Ronin's Ques
OMG you awake? I literally just finished playing The Bovine Ronin's Ques and I cannot sleep. It's 11 PM and my brain is still buzzing.
Remember how I told you that description someone sent me? "Wild, action-packed adventure like no udder! Slash, dodge, and dash!" Blah blah blah. That description is SO wrong it's almost funny. It's like calling a gourmet five-course meal "food you eat with your mouth." Technically true, but completely misses the point.
Honestly, when I first started, I was trying to just hack and slash everything like it said. And I kept dying! Like, Moomoto (that's the cow, btw) would just get wrecked by these little Shadow Weasels in the Whispering Bamboo Grove. I was getting so frustrated because your health bar just disappears if you try to brute force it. I almost quit, thinking it was just a bad combat game.
But then, I dunno, something clicked. I was stuck on this one part, like, the third "stage," and I noticed this beehive hanging above a patrol path. I was like, "wait, what if...?" And instead of charging in, I just nudged a bamboo stalk and the hive fell, scattering the weasels and letting me sneak past. DUDE. That was the moment.
It's not an action game at all! Or, not *just* an action game. It's like, a super clever puzzle game disguised as an action game. You have to *think* about every move. Sometimes the best "slash" is not to slash at all. Like, you can actually use your moo ability to distract enemies or even, like, herd them into traps. I figured out you can push these giant rolling gourds down hills to take out groups. It's so smart!
I ended up playing for like, three hours straight without even realizing it. I kept checking the time thinking it was only 9, but nope, it was almost midnight. I even told my cousin Alex about it today, and he's super picky about games. I don't usually like these stealthy, brainy games, but this one just pulls you in. It's fun. Really, really fun. You gotta try it.
