Vortex Blaste
About Vortex Blaste
Dude, you up? It's like, 11 PM but I literally cannot sleep. I just finished playing Vortex Blaste for like, three hours straight and my brain is still buzzing.
Remember how Mark told us it was about 'Control the arrow to sprint to the next circle. Seize the moment, so that the arrow sprint to avoid the vortex. Come and experience it and see how many points you can earn.'? Man, that description is so wrong it's almost funny. It's like describing a rollercoaster as "a cart on a track that goes up and down." Technically true, but completely misses the whole point.
Honestly, when I first started, I was trying to *avoid* the vortexes, just like the description said. And I kept crashing, like, over and over. My little glowing 'arrow' (which is more like a streak of light, really) would just get sucked in, game over. I was getting so frustrated, ready to just quit. But then, on one try, I accidentally hit the sprint button *just as* I was about to touch the edge of a vortex, and instead of getting sucked in, my arrow *blasted through* it with this insane WHOOSH sound and shot me forward. I was like, "WHOA, wait a minute!"
That's the whole thing! You don't *avoid* the vortexes, your supposed to *time your sprint through them*! It's like a super intense rhythm game mixed with a high-speed puzzle. The vortexes aren't obstacles, their like, accelerators if you hit them right. And if you chain a few together, it's this crazy, beautiful flow state where your just zooming from circle to circle, the screen is glowing, and the music gets all intense.
I swear, I looked at the clock and it was 8 PM, then the next time I checked, it was 11. I completely lost track of time. There was this one stage, "Nebula Drift," where you had to hit three tiny vortexes in a perfect sequence to slingshot yourself across a huge gap to the final circle. I must have tried it twenty times, and when I finally nailed it, the little "ding!" sound it made was so satisfying, I actually cheered out loud. My cat looked at me like I was crazy.
I don't usually get into these abstract, high-score games, but this one is different. It's not just about points, it's about finding that perfect flow, your reflexes getting better, and figuring out the puzzle of each new arrangement of vortexes. It's really, really good. You have to try it. Seriously. Your gonna love it.
