Droid Debt Duo
About Droid Debt Duo
Dude, you awake? It's 11 PM and I literally cannot sleep. My brain is still buzzing from Droid Debt Duo. Remember how someone described it? Like, 'oh it's a platformer where droids fold up'? Honestly, that's like describing pizza as 'baked dough with stuff on it'. Technically true, but completely misses the point.
It's not just about folding, it's about *how* you fold and *when* and *why* and how the physics just messes with everything in the best way. Like, you're not just jumping, you're trying to roll your little mini-droid through a tiny gap while your other droid pushes a giant block, and if you mess up, your mini-droid just tumbles off the edge like a tiny metal potato.
The first stage, I was so confused. Me and Mark, we kept trying to just jump over stuff. Then we realized we had to, like, stack one droid, the top one folds into a ball, and the bottom one *throws* it. Mark, he kept throwing me into the abyss by accident, it was hilarious. And then there was this one part, I think it was called the 'Gear Grind' stage, where you had to get both droids across a really wide gap. We tried everything, but then I figured out if one droid went mini and the other one *rolled* it across the narrow bridge, it would work. But your timing had to be perfect or the mini-droid would just roll off into the goo. That 'clink' sound when you finally landed it right? So satisfying.
The physics is just so good. It's not just like, 'oh things fall.' It's more like, 'things wobble and slide and sometimes bounce in totally unexpected ways.' We spent like twenty minutes trying to get a giant cogwheel to roll onto a pressure plate, and it kept just *barely* missing. We were yelling at the screen. I looked up and it was like 10:30. We started around 7. Time just vanished. Your just so focused on getting these two little robots to cooperate.
Seriously, you have to try this with Sarah. She'd love the puzzle parts, and your both good at not yelling at each other when things go wrong, unlike me and Mark haha. It's not just a game, it's like a shared experience. Your constantly talking, planning, laughing when you mess up. It's fun. Really, really fun. I keep thinking about that one part with the bouncy platforms and how we finally timed it perfectly. It's just so clever how they designed it. Forget that lame description. This game is something else. We should play it sometime soon, your gonna love it.
